Shows at 7:30pm & 9:30pm nightly:
Since his discovery by Quincy Jones at the 2006 Montreux Jazz Festival, Alfredo Rodríguez has developed “an elegant yet explosive technique and command for an array of musical idioms,” says The Los Angeles Times. The pianist’s music reflects the influence of keyboard legends like Keith Jarrett, Thelonious Monk, and Art Tatum as well the rigorous classical training of his native Havana. Rodríguez was nominated for a 2015 GRAMMY Award in the category of Best Arrangement (Instrumental or A Cappella) for the track “Guantanamera,” from his latest albumThe Invasion Parade. “He explores, celebrates and reinvents the music of the Cuba he left behind in 2009, creating his own vibrant musical remembrance.” (George Kanzler, Hot House, April 2014) This special engagement will feature the intoxicating voice of Ganavya Doraiswamy.
