George Colligan simply is one of the most original and compelling jazz artists of his generation. An award–winning composer and multi–instrumentalist, Colligan is in high demand as a sideman: He’s appeared on over a hundred albums and he’s worked with Cassandra Wilson, Don Byron, Sheila Jordan, Benny Golson, and Jack DeJohnette – just to name a few. As a leader, Colligan has released 24 recordings full of his intelligent writing and impressive technique. His latest CD, The Endless Mysteries, featuring Larry Grenadier (bass) and Jack DeJohnette (drums), was hailed by The New York Times as “one of the finer piano trio albums of 2013” by “a pianist of deep harmonic and rhythmic assurance.”
