  • Jazz Standard 116 East 27th Street New York, NY 10016 United States (map)

Shows at 7:30pm & 9:30pm nightly:

Our featured group this week calls itself “Still Dreaming”, a reference to the legendary ensemble “Old and New Dreams”, which serves as this project’s inspiration (Dewey Redman, saxophonist for the group, was Joshua Redman’s father). GRAMMY Award–nominated saxophonist Redman “is unparalleled among horn players today (JazzTimes), renowned for his passionate live performances and critically lauded recordings both as a leader and in eclectic collaborations with McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones, Brad Mehldau, and The Bad Plus, among others. Trumpeter Ron Miles “has created a musical output of astonishing versatility and depth” (, 2012) through his recordings as a leader and his work with Bill Frisell, Mercer Ellington, Ginger Baker, and Don Byron, to name a few. Scott Colley is among the most in–demand bassists in jazz today, while master drummer Brian Blade “is one of the freshest voices in 21st century jazz because of his non–elitist, all–inclusive approach” ( with his Brian Blade Fellowship and his work with major artists ranging from Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan to Wayne Shorter and Chick Corea. Come witness the world premier of this star-studded lineup, a personal statement from some of the greatest musicians of our time.
