Orrin Evans has followed a vigorously individual path through 25 albums as a leader and co–leader. Through four nights, Jazz Standard celebrates his style–spanning creativity as the acclaimed pianist and composer takes the helm of three distinctly different aggregations.

Kurt Rosenwinkel and Orrin Evans didn't cross paths onstage until 2014, when the former sat in with the Captain Black Big Band at Philadelphia’s World Café. They’ll reunite on our stage this week, as Kurt joins Evans' trio for two special nights of creative exploration. “His knack for appealing to connoisseurs as well as the uninitiated has made him one of the most widely applauded guitarists of the under–50 generation.” (Chicago Tribune)
