Among the most in–demand drummers of his generation, Eric Harland has performed and recorded with such legends as Betty Carter, Joe Henderson, Charles Lloyd, and Wayne Shorter; and has been nominated for GRAMMY Awards for his playing on albums by Terence Blanchard (Wandering Moon), Joshua Redman (Back East), and McCoy Tyner (Land of Giants). As a leader, Eric has released two albums, Voyager: Live by Night(2010) and Vipassana (2014). This week, Jazz Standard presents this great musician with four exceptional groups and special guests by the handful.

The saxophone trio has been an essential jazz configuration since Sonny Rollins pioneered the format in the late 1950s. With bassist Larry Grenadier and reeds master Chris Potter on board, we can expect this group to live up to that high standard.
