Dedicated to the great bassist, bandleader and composer Charles Mingus (1922–1979), our “Mingus Monday” series continues tonight with two incendiary sets by the Mingus Big Band – winners of the 2011 Grammy Award for their Live at Jazz Standard CD as Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album. “An almost flawless slice of some of Charles Mingus’s finest work!” (PopMatters.com)
